With 14 lambs born in the past 24 hours (a single, 5 sets of twins and a set of triplets), lambing is officially in full swing! The lambing room (kind of like a nursery) is packed with all 12 jugs (4’x5’ pen) at full occupancy…so much so that we created another 5 of these small pens out in the main barn. Last night, we had our first set of baby goats born. True to form, these twin girls have ears that are 70% of their head and 90% of their cuteness! Unfortunately, we had to separate them from their mother because she wasn’t creating enough milk…but that means “bottle babies”! The girls are strong and healthy and overall doing great!…

The lambing season has officially begun with our first ewe giving birth to a single black male lamb. Everything is in place and we were ready. It usually begins slowly with a lamb being born every other day or so but then around the first week of February we can expect 20+ lambs per day.…

Last weekend, we moved our large flock over a mile down the road to a new pasture to munch on grass growing up after the last cutting of hay.  This is the fastest and most efficient way for us to move our flock. We couldn’t do this very well without the help of our Border Collie team.
